Problem 14: A grey hound peruses a hare and takes 6 leaps for every 7 leaps of hare, but 5 leaps of the hound are equal to 6 leaps of the hare. The comparison of rates of the hound and hare is ;

Let

grey hound leap  = g

hare leap = h

 

 

B given data;

Grey hound takes 6 leaps for hare’s 7 leaps;

6g =7h —–(1)

But given

5g = 6h —-(2)

Dividing both relations both sides;

By given data;

Grey hound takes 6 leaps for hare’s 7 leaps;

6g =7h —–(1)

But given

5g = 6h —-(2)

Dividing both relations both sides;

\frac{6g}{5g}=\frac{7h}{6h}

\Rightarrow \frac{6}{5}=\frac{7}{6}

36:35
