a. 26:25                      b. 24:25                        c. 36:35                   d. 35:36

hound and hare

Solution:

Let

grey hound leap  = g

hare leap = h

B given data;

Grey hound takes 6 leaps for hare’s 7 leaps;

6g =7h —–(1)

But given

5g = 6h —-(2)

Dividing both relations both sides;

By given data;

Grey hound takes 6 leaps for hare’s 7 leaps;

6g =7h —–(1)

But given

5g = 6h —-(2)

Dividing both relations both sides;

\frac{6g}{5g}=\frac{7h}{6h}

\Rightarrow \frac{6}{5}=\frac{7}{6}

36:35

So the comparison is in ratio 36:35
