Word Problem 2
Problem 2: Annual income of A and B are in the ratio of 4:3 and their annual expances are in the ratio of 3:2. If each of them saves Rs 600 at the end of the year, The income of A is;
a. Rs 2800 b. Rs 2600 c. Rs 3600 d. Rs 1800
Math of ratios, business math —
Solution:
We arrange the given data as under;
Income of A : Income of B
4 : 3
Expenditure of A : Expenditure of B
3 : 2
Savings of A : Savings of B
4-3 : 3-2
1 : 1
This means in B’s case saving 1 part is equale to Rs 600
=> Saving 3 parts = 3×600 = Rs 1800
And in A’s case saving 1 part is also Rs 600
=> Saving of A in 4 parts = 4×600= Rs 2400
