Solution:

 

To see as how to evaluate an expression we first write it i-e

x^2+14x+48

 

We make two parts of mid term i-e 14x as 8x and 6x such that;

when we add these i-e;

8x+6x=14x

and when we multiply i-e;

(8x)(6x)=48x^2

 

So we can write;

=x^2+8x+6x+48

 

Taking x common from first two terms and 6 common from last two terms;

=x(x+8)+6(x+8 )

or

=[x(x+8)+6(x+8 )]

Now (x+8) can be taken as common i-e;

=(x+8)[x+6]

or

=(x+8)(x+6)
