Question 1: Rectangle has a perimeter of 250 units with length of four times of its width. What is area of the rectangle?

Solution:

Suppose,

Width = x

Then as per condition of the question;

Length= 4x

We know perimeter is total boundary length, which is calculated by taking sum of lengths of all sides of the rectangle;

Perimeter = x+4x+x+4x=10x

But Perimeter = 250

\Rightarrow 10x = 250

\Rightarrow x = 25

So , width is 25. So by given condition length is 4 times of width !

\Rightarrow Length =4\times 25=100

Now

Area Of Rectangle = Length \times width

Area Of Rectangle = 100 \times 25 =2500
