Question 1. Factorize 3x^{2} -76y^{2}

Question 1. Factorize  3x^{2} -75y^{2}

Factorization of a square minus b square type expressions

Solution:

Here we see 3 is common, so;

 3x^{2} -75y^{2}= 3(x^{2}-25 y^{2})

It can be written as;

= 3[(x)^{2}-(5 y)^{2}]

Now expression with in brackets is  a^{2}-b^{2} =(a-b)(a+b) form, so

= 3[(x-5 y)(3x+5y)]
